Donna Jones - Vernon

On November 23, 2022, Donna Marie Jones, 75, of Andover, formerly of Ellington, died quietly. She was the devoted wife of Stanley W. Jones for more than 56 years. Donna was the devoted daughter of the late Pauline and Richard Plastridge when she was born on December 4, 1946, in Brattleboro, Vermont. She attended Ellington High School and was born and raised there. Donna could sew exquisite items to wear or to give as gifts to family and friends. She was a self-taught master seamstress.

She attended St. Luke Church in Ellington and St. Bernard Church in Rockville. In 1961, Donna entered the Thomas’ English Muffin Contest. She was selected as a “Class Winner” and was credited with creating the Thomas’s English Muffin Pizza. An accomplishment she was very proud of. Donna was a former volunteer at Manchester Memorial Hospital, and she enjoyed spending time at the Andover Senior Center.

In addition to her beloved husband Stanley, she leaves her son, Steven W. Jones and Darlene Hayes of Somers and their family, Holly, Jaime, Victor, Nicole, Sierra and Alexis and her daughter and son-in-law, Robin Violette and Jeffrey Bestenbostel of Hampton. A calling hour will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road in Vernon on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 12- 1 pm with a Prayer Service at 1 pm.
