On November 21st, 2022, Kathleen Rose Taylor, 89, of Victoria, British Columbia, died away quietly at The Berwick House.
In addition to her children June Tiefenbach and Bill Taylor (Karen), her brothers Tom and Bob Pincombe, grandchildren Shannon Franz (Scott), Samuel Taylor, and Lucas Tiefenbach, great-grandson Lewis Franz, and a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, Kathy is also survived by her daughter June Tiefenbach. To everyone who knew her, she was a warm and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Bob, her husband of 63 years, as well as her parents Bruce and Kay Pincombe, predeceased her.
Kathy was born in Gatineau in 1933 and spent her childhood at her parents home. She graduated from Nursing School at the Civic Hospital in 1954. She married the love of her life, Bob in 1957 and together they had two children, June and Bill.
In 1962 they moved to Ottawa Ontario, where they remained until both she and Bob retired at 54. Kathy loved the second home they built on their island on Dam Lake, Quebec, where she was able to pursue her passions of sewing, the outdoors, and mostly spending time with family and friends. They moved to Comox, British Columbia in 1988 and together started a second 25 year career in the ski school at Mount Washington on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. She and Bob loved their home in Comox BC and also loved to travel and saw much of the world together.
The family will be holding a private ceremony of life and internment.
A special thank you to the staff at The Berwick House for making her comfortable in her final days and for their caring support during a difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Comox Valley Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
