Bert Banks Obituary, Death – The tragic death of Bert Banks has caused the city of Kimberley to enter a period of grief, and residents are expressing their condolences to one another. Banks was a well-respected and active member of the community that Kimberley is a part of, and he also spent a significant period of time serving on the city council. In addition to his work as a volunteer for the Kimberley Community Development Society, Bert Banks served a combined total of seventeen years on the City Council over the course of his professional life. During this time, he also worked for the Kimberley Community Development Society (KCDS).
Bert was influential in the development and design of many parts of Kimberley, including the Bavarian motif that can be found all over the town, the golf courses, the campsite, the swimming facility, and Mark Creek Dam. Bert also played a role in the construction of Mark Creek Dam. In addition, the Kimberley Brewery is decked up in a motif reminiscent of that found in Bavaria all throughout the establishment. Bert Banks was not only a long-time participant in the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments (AKBLG), during which time he also held the position of President of that organization, but he was also a very long-time member of the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments. During his time in the Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments, he also held the position of President of that organization (AKBLG).
During the period that he was employed by the city of Kimberley, Banks maintained this position in addition to the responsibilities that came with his roles as an advocate and an ambassador for the city.
