Işık Aydemir Obituary, Death – Because of the demise of our acclaimed scholar and Founding Member, Işk Aydemir, who also served as a Member of the Board and a former President of the Europa Nostra Scientific Council, we are in an incomprehensible state of sadness. His contributions to Europa Nostra were immeasurable. His services to our organization included acting as a Board Member and a past President of the Europa Nostra Scientific Council. In addition, he was a member of our organization’s Scientific Council. Ik Aydemir was another person who helped establish Europa Nostra in its early days. The fact that he has worked in each of these positions is just one illustration of the many different ways that he has contributed to the organization over the course of his career.
Because of his leaving, we are going to experience a substantial quantity of pain and suffering as a result of our losses. May he ultimately find the tranquility he seeks and be aware that he has created a void in Europa Nostra Turkey that none of us will ever be able to fill. May he also have the courage to face the consequences of his actions. I pray that he will have the strength to acknowledge that he is the one who brought this upon himself. I pray that he will be able to find some measure of tranquility and rest soon. I say a prayer every day that God grants him the ability to experience peace and relaxation in the very near future. I pray that God gives him the capacity to quiet his anxious thoughts and let go of his concerns so that he can enjoy life more fully.
