Jack Crowell Obituary, Death – Jack Huelin Crowell’s funeral is on December 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Natchitoches. Private graveside services follow. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 5 to 9 p.m. at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA 71457. Jack, 37, died in 2022. Huelin A. and Cindy Sherer Crowell had him in 1985. Jack was an All-State, All-Area, All-District, and All-Parish placekicker in 2003. School’s top kicker. Jack played at Mississippi State for three-time SWC Coach of the Year Jackie Sherrill. Jack earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mississippi State in 2007.
He met Alex Clay in Oxford, Mississippi. Life, love, and personality filled them. Jack and Alex married in 2014 and had kids in 2018 and 2022. Wallace made them an “All-American Family.” Jack loved growing trees and making useful forest products. His work ethic, demeanor, and knowledge impressed Weyerhaeuser. He managed Weyerhaeuser’s North Louisiana raw materials. Jack’s cheerfulness made others happy. He was a charming, witty, and entertaining comedian. His many friends reflected his complexity. In one day, he could hunt ducks, golf, mow his lawn, and play ball with his son Jackson. Non-inclusive: closet organization and weekly ironing.
Jack started parties. He’d be your best friend instantly. He befriended his friends’ parents. Jack’s participation annoyed his parents. The kid’s best friend. Friend. Hunter, fisher, golfer, wakeboarder, skier. Dedicated husband, father, son, and soon-to-be uncle. Devout Christian Jack is in a better place. Jack was surrounded by family and friends. We’ll see his legacy as his children grow. Jack and Ellete Sherer, his maternal grandparents, and Andrew Alford Crowell died before he was born.
He is survived by his wife, Alex Clay Crowell, son Jackson Crowell, daughter Elizabeth Crowell, parents Huelin and Cindy Crowell of Pensacola, FL, sister Holly Crowell Shaw (Lee) of Fort Worth, TX, father and mother-in-law Dennis and Betsy Clay of Memphis, TN, and brother-in-law Dennis Clay, Jr. Pallbearers are Taylor Barker, Ryan Breedlove, Cole Gentry, Carter Mascagni, Brandon Renicker, and Tommy Watts. Jason Colvin, Jim Daniels, Mark Haller, John Hobson, Derek Lansing, Lee Shaw, Travis Tyler, and Marc Mitchell Wiggins are honorary pallbearers.
