Jennifer Torgerson Obituary, Death – Jennifer Renee Torgerson, 45, of Harrisburg, South Dakota, passed away on December 7, 2022. Jennifer Renee Florey was born on November 28, 1977, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Roger Allen and Carol (Haar) Florey. She graduated from West Central High School in 1996. She was raised in Hartford, South Dakota, where she was born. Jen began her career at Citibank after graduating from college, originally in the mailroom. Later, she worked in the student loan division and the department for credit bureau disputes before being promoted to the position of business analyst. She spent 25 years working for Citibank.
Jennifer and Philip Torgerson were married in the Eastside Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on May 2, 2009. After being married and relocating to Harrisburg, South Dakota, the couple soon gave birth to their daughter, Kaylee. Jen was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She cherished spending time with her cats, Kimber and Kitty, reading, and watching the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). Jen was an active “Cheer Mom” who took part in her daughter’s cheerleading and school activities. One of Jen’s greatest loves was spending time with her family and her daughter, Kaylee.
Donations to the family’s chosen charity in honor of Kaylee and Jennifer’s lives may be substituted with flowers. Brother Jason (Stephanie) Florey of Hartford, South Dakota; sister Jodi (Chris) Kuipers of Platte, South Dakota; nephews Case Kuipers, Ben Kellar, Seth Torgerson, Andrew Ladhani, and Masyn Torgerson; nieces Grace Florey, Lauryn Kuipers, Mallory Kellar, Kortney Torgerson, and Anna; and husband Philip Torgerson of Harrisburg, South Dakota Jennifer’s adored daughter Kaylee Marie Torgerson, her parents Roger and Carol Florey, and her grandparents all predeceased her.
On Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be a viewing at Shalom Lutheran Church, 1000 East Maple Street, Harrisburg, SD 57032, with family and friends present. Funeral services and a reception will be place on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the high school Commons at 1300 East Willow Street, Harrisburg SD 57032. In Harrisburg, South Dakota, Pleasant View Cemetery will host a private graveside service.
