Joanne Martin Obituary, Death – On December 9, 2022, at the age of 74, Joanne M. Martin died away while she was at peace in the surroundings of her own house. Her passing occurred on that date. She was raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania, until making the move to Ocean City, New Jersey, in 1999. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her childhood there. The state of Pennsylvania is both where she was born and where she grew up in her hometown. She received the prestigious diploma from Haverford High School in 1968, and she remained employed by the Ocean City School District right up until 2018, when she made the decision to retire earlier than planned. Joanne was a regular attendee of the services that were held at St. Damien Parish, which she never missed.
She found that she could relax and let her mind wander the most while she was strolling along the boardwalk or the beach. Joanne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert A. Martin, his son William S. Martin and his wife Misti (Kayli and Bobby), his daughter Kelly Ann Zaun and her husband Drew (Paul, Samantha, Marley, and Rue), Joanne’s sister Jean Heffernan, and a large number of nieces and nephews. Joanne’s sister Jean Heffernan also survives her along with a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition, Joanne’s sister Jean Heffernan and a sizable number of nieces and nephews will carry on her legacy after her passing. In addition, Joanne’s legacy will be carried on after her death by her sister Jean Heffernan as well as a sizeable number of her nieces and nephews. The marriage of Joanne Martin and Robert A. Martin lasted for a combined total of 54 years.
Before Joanne passed away, both of her parents, Jones Passmore and Helen Delacey, as well as her brother Robert Passmore, had already left this world. A memorial service for her will be held on the morning of Thursday, December 15, 2022 at eleven o’clock at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of St. Damien Parish in Ocean City, New Jersey. This church can be found near the intersection of 40th Street and Asbury Avenue in Ocean City. Visitors from far and wide are cordially invited to stop by the church at any time beginning at 10:30 in the morning and continuing right up until the start of the liturgy. Her funeral and memorial service are scheduled to take place on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of St. Damien Parish located in Ocean City, New Jersey.
