Philippa Roe Obituary, Leader Of Westminster City Council Has Passed Away

Philippa Roe Obituary, Death – Leader Of Westminster City Council Has Passed Away Social Media friend Nickie Akien Announces the passing of Philippa Roe – My beloved friend and former coworker Philippa Roe, Baroness Couttie, lost her courageous battle with cancer and died away today. As a result of hearing this, I am seized with an overpowering sensation of loss. Philippa, in her role as Leader of Westminster City Council, put the enhancement of social housing through redevelopment at the center of the council’s agenda, together with the enhancement of skills and the creation of new job opportunities.

She was also the driving force behind the push to persuade the Coalition Government to limit the number of nights that short-term rentals could be offered in the city to a maximum of ninety nights. It is impossible for me to accurately convey how much I value her friendship and support because I will never be able to do so. She was there for me when I received the news that I had a serious condition, delivering the direction and support that I required at that time. She was there for me when I received the news that I had a serious sickness.

When she opted to run for the House of Lords rather than continuing in her post as Council Leader, she had a huge impact on my decision to run for the position myself. Her decision to continue her career in the House of Lords instead of remaining in her role as Council Leader. She urged me to stand up and refused to hear any of my explanations for why I shouldn’t do so. Because Phillippa was such an exceptional public servant, Westminster is in many ways a better place to live today as a direct result of the time she spent serving as Council Leader. This improvement can be directly attributed to her time spent in that role. Regarding the sad loss suffered by her family, please accept my deepest condolences.
