Seth Meeks Obituary, Port Washington WI, A Pastor at Open Door Bible Church Has Died

Seth Meeks Obituary, Death – Seth Meeks, 42, of Port Washington Wisconsin has unexpectedly passed away on December 11, 2022. Seth was a Pastor of Adult Discipleship at Open Door Bible Church. His death news was confirmed through a tributes paid to him on social media; Our hearts are heavy today since one of our closest friends died unexpectedly yesterday at the age of 42. I know I’m not alone when I say he was like a brother to us. We were going to die together, with him officiating at our funerals and us attending his one day. Seth Meeks had a major impact on the lives of so many individuals. A loving husband and father, a brother and son, a teacher and mentor, a Pastor, and a dear friend. He was a servant of the Lord who God used in ways that will be remembered for decades, if not for eternity. He left a legacy behind.

My physical body feels my father abandoned us at an early age, yet one of the many teachings he taught us was that God is Sovereign. God’s ways are always good, and we can trust Him even when we don’t understand why. And now, like Seth, we will seek consolation and peace from God’s word and prayer. He exemplified the first two commandments: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. We will carry on his ministry of loving others and sharing Christ’s love with them. Even though we’ve been friends for nearly 15 years, it feels like we’re just getting started. Brian and I were missionary partners who eagerly anticipated meeting him and Anya again.

He poured into our life and had the greatest influence on our spiritual journey, for which we will be eternally grateful. We couldn’t wait to tell him about God’s work in our lives, and he was one of the first people we called when we were in difficulties. We will miss him terribly. Like so many others before him, he made us feel loved and seen. He was our most powerful ally aside from God. He equipped and continues to equip us to know and make known God. God used him in extraordinary ways. Thank you, Lord, for our friend Seth and the precious time we shared with him; teach us to value each day for what it is.

He reminded us of Psalm 139:16 not long ago when mom was admitted to the hospital and we didn’t know what her future held, and it still brings us comfort today. He lived and breathed God’s word. He couldn’t wait to see Jesus. Seth informed us that when we recently lost another great Christian buddy, he was more alive than we were, and the same is true of Seth today. He is more alive than we are Please keep us in your prayers. For his wife, our beloved Anya, and their five children. For his extended family and the members of our church. In memory of my spouse, who has lost his best buddy. His departure leaves such a void, and while we rejoice that he is with our Savior, we also lament what we have lost.
This isn’t goodbye, Seth; it’s see you later.
