
Eva Skaarup Obituary, Death – At her residence in River de Chute, New Brunswick, on December 12, 2022, Eva Skaarup (Givskud) passed away from natural causes. She was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, on July 13, 1930, and her husband, Frederik C. Skaarup, whom she married on October 30, 1947, passed away prior to her birth. Before she got married, Eva worked in both St. John and Edmundston, New Brunswick. After being married, she supported her family by working as a farmer’s wife and raising her children. In her later years, she volunteered with the Red Cross as a homemaker until she reached retirement age. Eva served as a Sunday School teacher, a Youth Leader, and a member of the Bairdsville Women’s Institute during the entirety of her life.
Ruth Sawler of Hartland, New Brunswick and Else (Harvey) MacLauchlan of Cibolo, Texas are two of Eva’s offspring who are still living. In addition to her husband, Eva Givskud was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Elisabeth (Treshov-Schade) Givskud; her daughter, Karen; her son, David; her grandson, Kenny; her brothers, Frederick (Joan), Johan (Gaetane), and Mogens; and her brothers-in-law, Harold, Aage, and Carl (Phyllis). On Friday, December 16, 2022, visitation will be conducted from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Calvary Tabernacle, which is located at 12 Legion Street in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick. The funeral ceremony will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. The ceremony will be presided over by the Reverend D. T. Ferrell. St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Denmark, New Brunswick will be the location of the interment.
The family of Eva want to express their gratitude to the Extra Mural Nurses, the Red Cross, and Eva’s Caregivers.
