Paul Hendrix Obituary, North Manchester Resident has passed away

Paul Hendrix Obituary, Death – North Manchester resident Paul Thomas “Tom” Hendrix, 72, passed away on December 13, 2022, with his family by his side. Tom Hendrix was born in Wabash, Indiana on January 20, 1950. His parents, Paul Wayne and Beulah C. (Sigler) Hendrix, passed away in the 1940s. Tom started his professional life as a truck driver after he graduated from Wabash High School in 1968. Before starting to distribute auto parts for O’Reilly in North Manchester, he spent the better part of his life as a truck driver for several businesses. Tom’s family meant the world to him, therefore he worked hard to provide for them.

Tom was a longtime member of the First Brethren Church in North Manchester and was later baptized as a member of the Congregational Christian Church there. Tom married his sweetheart, Becky Michel, on March 3, 1979. They were married for 43 years, during which time they had three children named Jama, Michael, and Kylee, and nine grandchildren. Tom loved being a father and grandfather and would do anything for his family. He was a huge fan of going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering for them from the stands. Tom also enjoyed attending and cheering on the students at other Manchester High School sporting events.

On Sundays, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and Indiana University Basketball. Tom’s favorite pastime was hosting barbecues and dinner parties for his loved ones. If you drove by Tom’s house in the winter, you could see him outside, manning the grill. Tom Hendrix is survived by his wife, Becky, in North Manchester; son, Michael (Amy) in the same city; daughters, Jama Gaerte and Kylee (Seth Foreman) in the same city; nine grandkids; and a son-figure in Germany named Raiko Putz. Tom’s mother and father as well as his sister Gwen Huffman have passed away.

On Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM, the family and friends of the deceased are invited to visit at the McKee Mortuary, located at 1401 State Road 114 West in North Manchester. After the time of calling has ended, Pastor J.P. Freeman will preside over a memorial service honoring Tom’s life. Final arrangements for Tom Hendrix have been entrusted to McKee Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Tom Hendrix’s name to either the Manchester Booster Club (1 Squire Drive, North Manchester, Indiana 46962) or Parkview Home Health and Hospice (1900 Carew Street, Suite 210, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805).
