Sarah Helmuth Obituary, Death – Sarah Elisabeth (Yutzy) Helmuth, 33, of Plain City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2022 after a brief and courageous fight against cancer. She was from Plain City. She was the daughter of David and Dorothy (Geiser) Yutzy of West Jefferson, Ohio, and was born on September 20th, 1989. Sarah is survived by her parents; her husband of 11 years, Travis Helmuth; her children: Reece William, Peyton Mae, and Maci Lea; her brothers: Timothy (Alexa) Yutzy of Plain City, OH and Joseph (Hillary) Yutzy of West Jefferson, OH; foster brothers: Tre’Andre Cahill and Jaylynn Cahill; and four nieces and nephews: Henry, Benjamin, Linden, and Lenna. Sarah was born on Her daughter Marley Sue passed away before her. She was her predecesor.
After receiving her diploma from West Jefferson High School in 2007, Sarah continued her education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work three years later in 2011. During her time working as a patient/client advocate at Loving Care Hospice and Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resource Center, she demonstrated exceptional skill and performance. She volunteered in the children’s ministry of the Lifepoint Church in Plain City, which she attended, and she enjoyed volunteering at DNA (Daily Needs Assistance), as well as other community service initiatives and several other volunteer opportunities. Sarah was a devoted wife to Travis for the past 11 years, a loving mother to her three children, and a faithful friend to many. Sarah and Travis were married for the past 11 years.
She wanted the tale of her life to represent two things: first, that she never doubted the goodness of God, and second, that she recognized individuals for who they were and campaigned for them. She wanted this to be reflected in the story of her life. “Your work here is done, excellent and faithful servant,” the master said.
The family would like to convey their heartfelt gratitude to friends, relatives, and members of the community for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support that they have received in a myriad of different ways over the past few months.
On Thursday, December 15, visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Shiloh Mennonite Church, which is located at 7521 Woods West Ave. in London, Ohio. The funeral service will be held there on Friday, December 16, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Brian Hershberger serving as the officiant. The funeral and burial will be held in the Foster Chapel Cemetery.
