Cookie Kight Obituary, Death – Cookie (Clifford Allan) Kight passed away on December 12, 2022, to be with his Lord and Savior. Born to Clifford and Betty Kight in Beech Grove, Indiana on August 17, 1957, he was their oldest male child and one of nine living children. Cookie grew up in Acton, Indiana, and was well-known in the Franklin Township community for his services. at an a. On Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day, he enjoyed hanging American flags throughout Acton and planting flags at the Acton Cemetery. He loved cars (especially loud and fast ones) and relished Demolition Derby races.
He spent many years volunteering for the Pleasant Lodge’s Frite Lodge Haunted House, the Marion County Fair Board, the Franklin Township Trustees Office, judging numerous automotive displays for the Wanamaker Street Fair, and was President of the Franklin Township Civic League when he died. His parents, first wife Cindy (Miller), and second wife Debbie all died before he was born (Ray). He leaves behind his wife Sharon (Knoth) and two daughters, Heather Ray (husband Billy & daughter Malibu), and Krystle Hiott (husband Matt & sons Bentley, Grayson, and Orin); eight siblings, Debbie, Don & wife Fran, Brenda Lempp & husband Stephen, Jeff & wife Joyce, Janice Uehlein & husband Eric, Dennis & wife Lori, Greg & wife Jennifer, and Kim Little & husband Mark; father-in-law Jim Knoth, and brother-in-law Jim Knoth & wife Tracey.
His family and friends who enjoyed hanging out with him, listening to his wit and laughter, and attending his annual 4th of July Fireworks Display will miss him terribly. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Franklin Township Civic League’s Flag Fund or to the Franklin Township Civic League in general may be made. Cookie’s funeral will be held on Sunday, December 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Acton Elementary School, 8010 Acton Rd., Indianapolis 46259, with visitation at the school on Saturday, December 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Cookie will be laid to rest in Acton Cemetery following the funeral on Sunday. Final arrangements are being handled by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Franklin Township Chapel.
