James Hiller Obituary, Death – On November 30, 2022, James Joseph (Jim) Hiller passed away while he was surrounded by Beverly (Bev), the woman he had been married to for 53 years.
Jim Hiller was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 16, 1944, to his late parents, Melvin J. Hiller and Marjorie Marie Weston. He spent his childhood in Yale, Michigan. His younger brother Michael Hiller passed away prior to his passing. In 1998, Jim and Bev moved to Florida, and in 2013, they moved to Kings Point, also in Florida.
Jim is survived by his two devoted daughters, Kellie Hiller Kuhn (Tom Kuhn) and Sara Hiller Wallon (Randy Wallon), as well as seven grandchildren. Kellie Hiller Kuhn was married to Tom Kuhn. Sara Hiller Wallon was married to Randy Wallon. Jim worked in the life insurance industry for 52 years, mostly in management positions. He was very good at reading people and was very enthusiastic about satisfying the requirements of his customers. He had a career in the insurance industry, having held positions at National Life and Accident Insurance Company, American General Life Insurance Company, and Gleaner Life Insurance Society.
Jim was a never-ending practical joker who relished the opportunity to talk about his and Bev’s travels around the world. They went to a number of different countries and locations, including Israel, Australia, Vanuatu, Singapore, and Italy. In 2006, Jim and some of his friends sailed to Cuba. Jim was an avid supporter of the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment, as well as a fan of scuba diving, golf, and sporting clays. Jim was a member of the Catholic church and was very involved in community service. In Michigan, he served as a volunteer probation officer. In Michigan, he served as a precinct delegate for the Republican Party. In Garden City, Michigan, he served as President of the Kiwanis Club. In Sun City, Florida, he served as a volunteer ambulance driver. In Sun City, Florida, he served as Vice President of the Bay Area Arbor. In Desota, Minnesota, he served as a past master of the Masonic Desota Lodge (FL).
Following the Mass that will be held at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City, Florida on the 19th of December at 10:00 a.m., there will be a luncheon held at the Kings Point North Club in the Waterside Room.
