Jimmy Houser Obituary, Member of First Presbyterian Church has passed away at 80

Jimmy Houser Obituary, Death –  Mr. Jimmy Gantt Houser passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Heath Village Nursing Facility located in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Lawndale, North Carolina was the location of his birth on June 30th, 1942. His parents were Luther and Bessie Houser. Following his graduation from Northbrook High School, he continued his study at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he received his degree. Jim worked as a teacher in North Carolina, then as a District Manager for Sears in North Carolina and Virginia, then for Walmart in Virginia, and finally as a nurse at the University of Virginia Hospital before he retired. In Charlottesville, Virginia, he was an active participant in the Widow Sons Lodge #60 A.F. & A.M. and the First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Gail Houser, as well as by his sister, Wanda Lee Yarboro. His parents are buried in the family cemetery. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Houser (wife Jennifer) of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Melyssa Newman (husband John) of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Justin Houser (wife Kelly) of Lynchburg, Virginia; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and an innumerable number of other friends and family members.

On Saturday, December 10, at 11 a.m., there will be a funeral service held at Eaton Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Bob Summers will preside over the ceremony. Immediately following the wedding, masonic rites will be carried out. After the service, the burial will take place in Rose Cemetery. At the funeral home, the family will host a visitation for friends one hour before the start of the service.
