
Kristy Harwell Obituary, Death – At the age of 62, Kristy Lyn Harwell was found to have passed away at her home on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1960, and her parents, R. Lynn Harwell and Joy S. Harwell, both passed away before her birth. After completing her studies at Lander College, Kristy earned a degree in Home Economics and went on to earn her teaching certification. She served as a teacher’s aide for the Spartanburg I School District at two separate schools within the district. Because Kristy enjoyed interacting with people, she first worked at a couple of daycare facilities and then went on to work at Dobson’s Hardware and Gifts in Greer.
Kristy called the apartment complex in Seneca known as Belvedere Commons her home. She was a kind and compassionate person who never met a stranger in her life. She has a kind heart and was constantly interested in finding out more about other people. Kristy found great satisfaction in showing concern for the people in her life and concentrating on the ways in which she could be a blessing to others. She had been attending Clemson United Methodist Church for a significant amount of time.
Cooking, crafts, gardening, and helping her father out on the family farm were all activities that Kristy enjoyed doing. She felt a deep attachment to Vega, Texas, her hometown, because it is there that she has the majority of her family and friends. Her sister, Karil Harwell Tyler, as well as her brother-in-law, Herb Tyler, both of Clemson; a nephew, Michael Lynn Tyler (Bronwyn), and a great nephew, Matthew Douglas Tyler, both of North Charleston; a nephew, Christopher Scott Tyler (Megan Wendover), and a great nephew Herbert Essex Tyler, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two great-great-nephews, Matthew Douglas Tyler and Herbert Essex Tyler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kurt Summers Harwell, and her nephew, David Allen Tyler. Both of these individuals were her blood relatives. Memorial services are scheduled to take place in the chapel of the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home and Cremations located in Central, South Carolina on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1 PM. Following the conclusion of the service, the family will be present at the funeral home to welcome their friends. On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11 AM, a graveside service will be held in her final resting place.
The ceremony will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega, Texas. After the funeral, the Reeve family will get together at Mitch and Jan’s house to celebrate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be donated to the South Carolina Botanical Gardens, located at 150 Discovery Lane, Clemson, South Carolina 29631; or the Milburn-Price Culture Museum, located at Box 377, Vega, Texas 79092; both of these locations are listed below.
