James Elliott Obituary, Sandwich Resident Has Passed Away

James Elliott Obituary, Death – James “Jim” Elliott, 84, of Sandwich, IL, formerly of Leland, IL, died on December 14, 2022, at Northwestern/Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. He was born in Sandwich, Illinois on March 26, 1938, to Wilmot and Ruth (Miller) Elliott. On November 14, 1959, he married Marilyn Larson at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, Illinois. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL, a member of the Leland Lions Club, a former member of the Leland School Board, a cashier and president of Leland National Bank, a past board member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Fox Valley Older Adults, and a volunteer fireman and trustee of the Leland Fire Department.

Jim worked as a realtor in Somonauk, IL for 47 years and as an auctioneer for 42. Jim coached Craig’s youth baseball teams. He never met a stranger and could communicate with anyone. He was a lifelong Cubs fan and a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn; one daughter, Rhonda Bernard of Somonauk, IL; one son, Craig (Cori) Elliott of Somonauk, IL; six grandchildren, Dan (Kellie) Bernard, Megan Bernard, Zach (Megan) McQuate, Alex (Tommy) McQuate, Rylee, Eva; one brother, Leo (Patt) Elliott of Sycamore, IL; one niece and two nephews.
His parents, one son, Terry Elliott, and one son-in-law, Dan Bernard, all predeceased him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Pastor Hope Johnson will officiate at the funeral service on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Burial will take place in Leland Cemetery in Leland, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Fox Valley Community Services, Open Door, or a charity of one’s choosing in place of flowers. May James Elliott soul rest in perfect peace .
