Pamela Schu Obituary, Death – After a long and courageous struggle against her illness, Pamela Wilkins Schu, 62, of Hornell, New York, passed away at her residence on Beltz Road on Tuesday afternoon. At the time of her passing, she was embraced by the loving company of her devoted family (Dec. 13, 2022). She was the daughter of James Wilkins and Muriel (Hendee) Wilkins, both of whom had passed away before she was born. She was born on Christmas Day in the year 1959 in the town of North Hornell. Pam graduated from Hornell High School with her diploma in 1978. After completing her secondary education, she went on to earn her registered nurse (RN) certification from Alfred University and her master’s degree from SUNY Brockport.
She held positions as a Registered Nurse at a number of local institutions, including St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, Planned Parenthood, Alfred University, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Bath. Pam enjoyed spending time outside and enjoyed hiking, skiing, kayaking, and camping. Two of her favorite hobbies included knitting and watercolor painting, particularly landscapes. Especially landscapes. Her husband and children, as well as her sister and friends, will always remember Pam as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend.
She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Brian C. Schu, whom she married on September 29, 1989, in Hornell; their two children, Ian Schu of Hornell and Sadie Schu of New York City; two brothers, Jeffrey (Carmen) Wilkins and Patrick Wilkins, both of Hornell; one aunt, Marjorie (Dick) Boone of Geneseo, New York; two uncles, Ronald Wilkins of Rochester, New York and Larry (Carol) Wilkins of Canisteo, New York; The telephone will not be used at any point during this event. There will be a memorial service held in her honor on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of the United Presbyterian Church, which can be found in Hornell at 150 Main St. The Reverend David Kilgore is scheduled to serve as the officiant for the event.
