Robert Twiford Obituary, Death – The driver who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident in Ronkonkoma is wanted by police, and they are trying to find and identify him. The event reportedly took place on December 5 at 8:00 p.m., as stated by the authorities. Robert Twiford, 61, exited the eastbound Long Island Expressway at exit 60 and parked his vehicle. According to authorities, he exited his vehicle and then maneuvered himself so that he could fall to the ground before being hit by another vehicle. Twiford, according to his wife, has no known medical conditions; however, it is unknown why he was lying on the ground. Twiford succumbed to his wounds and passed away as a result. The driver who struck him fled the scene of the accident.

The driver can be seen fleeing the scene on surveillance video released by Suffolk County police. The driver stopped on Garrity Avenue after fleeing to inspect the damage. Suffolk County Police Chief of Detectives John Rowan described the vehicle as “a light-colored, possibly gray, 2015 to 2018 Ford Focus hatchback.” The hit-and-run shown in the video was captured on camera from about a half mile away. Twiford’s mother died about seven days ago, according to his wife. She stated that the family is in pain, and they are even more heartbroken because the police have been unable to locate the driver. “To say the least, it’s been a terrifying experience. I’m still processing everything that happened.” Donna Twiford provided the information.
