Ernestine Tomescu Obituary, Death – Ernestine Reid Tomescu passed away on the 12th of December in the year 2022, when she was 72 years old. The Huntsville Hospital was the location of her funeral services. On September 4, 1950, Ernie Reid was born in the town of Adrian in the state of Michigan. It was her parents, James A. (Jr.) and Artie Reid, who gave birth to her. Ernie was better known to her friends and family simply as “Ernie.” She was a young girl when she and her family made the move to Alabama, and she resided in Marion County right up until a not too distant past when she made the move to Huntsville. In 1978, Ernie completed the necessary coursework to acquire her nursing certification. She cared for her friends and family in the city that she valued while working as a nurse in Hamilton, where she had spent her whole nursing career. She had spent her entire nursing career in Hamilton.
After completing her training as a nurse, she went on to become a nursing educator. She devoted the ten years leading up to her retirement to teaching, and throughout that time, she was able to share with her students the enthusiasm she felt for a career path that had carried her through many facets of her life. She started out as a nurse and later became a nursing instructor during her long and successful career in nursing, which extended over forty years. During that period, she committed every ounce of her being to attending to the needs of her patients and sharing her knowledge with the other nurses. The children of Ernie, namely Tina Miller Douglas, Tiffin Miller Taylor, Oana Tomescu, and Costin (Meghan) Tomescu, are the ones who will continue on her legacy after she has passed away. Taylor, Stela Tomescu, Chloe Tomescu, and Mackenzie Tomescu are all considered to be grandchildren. One of our Great Grandchildren is a young man named Connor Douglas Tidwell. In addition to her nieces and nephews, she is survived by a large group of acquaintances as well as other relatives and members of the family. The devoted husband of Ernie, Dr. Octavian C. Tomescu, as well as her daughter, Lacie, and her sister, Sandra V. Miller, all predeceased her. Her parents, Jr. and Artie Reid, as well as her daughter, Lacie, and her sister, all died before Ernie. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from three in the afternoon until four in the afternoon, the family will be present in the Chapel of the Hamilton Funeral Home to meet and greet friends. The memorial ceremony will begin at four in the afternoon, and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider making a donation to your local animal shelter in Ernie’s name.
