She called the town of Summersville in Missouri her home. She was born on July 31st, 1933 in the town of Ink, Missouri, and her parents were James Alfred Patton and Mary Ina (Sykes) Patton. She was the only child in her family. The ceremony that officially united Wanda and Gerald Dewain Shoults as husband and wife took place on May 8th, 1954. Michael Dewain, Bradley Gerald, and Richard Allen were all born to these two persons as a result of their union, which culminated in the birth of three sons. In the years leading up to her move to the farm in 1983, she lived in the cities of St. Louis and Arnold, both located in the state of Missouri. After that, she moved to Summersville the following year in 2004. After moving to Summersville, Wanda decided to become a member of the First Baptist Church in the area.
In the past, she was a member of the Grace Free Will Baptist Church located in Arnold. The beauty of Wanda’s garden and yard was very important to her, and she took a great deal of pride in keeping them in good shape. She pruned her shrubs and tended to her flowers, but when she wasn’t doing that, she made sure the grass didn’t get too tall! Her top priorities in life were doting on her grandchildren and spending quality time with her husband and children. The realization of this gave her the greatest pleasure. Her parents, Alfred and Ina Patton, as well as her brothers Louis Patton, Vernon Patton, Larry Patton, and James (Jack) Patton, as well as her sisters Dorothy Winkleman and Lois Jean Patton, all passed away before she did. Her husband, Dewain Shoults, also passed away before she did. Her brothers and sisters, as well as both of her parents, all went away before she did.
She is survived by her sons Michael and wife Teresa, Bradley and wife Vicki, and Richard and wife Cindy; four grandchildren, Melinda and husband David, their daughters Madelynn and Sophia and son Liam; Jason and wife Amanda, their daughters Annabella, Adelaide, and AnaLissa and sons, Jayden, Jeremiah, and Jonah; Rebecca and her daughter Finley; Melissa and husband Matt, their daughter Ava, and sons Ryan and Lucas; and her sister Patricia and husband Frank After her demise, she will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and care for her.
